The first verse about Tian An Men Square, some of ya'll might know that the Chinese government's denied that shit ever since it happend, even up till now. The media in China's not allowed to say anything about it.....so will the album be banned from China because of that verse?
Here's the lyrics, courtesy of janstuh's thread: [Lyrics] - The Rest IS History
to wake up daily,
and sleep better nights,
thats what we all wish for to seek a better life, right?
It's unfortunate, when tragedys strike,
but the truth is reality bites,
June 4th 89, a day residents fear
now known as The Massacre At Tiananmen Square
the day I turned seven they were mourning and grieving
thousands of innocents die for what they believed in
come with nothing but heart and a point to prove
stood infront of tanks and refused to move
what Would You Do?
run or stand still whens your lifes on the line
to test a mans will
seeking change and they found but in death
strangers yet they were my blood and flesh
this happened in China,
but you ain't gotta be asian to relate
to the struggle, pain and hard aches
This is prolly my fav song off the album btw, I'm coppin the album on the strength of this and a few other tracks alone

hell yeah, HK and China are seriously pirate populated. but think in that way, ppl in the states and canada download the free songs from internet, that's the same. unless i won't download the album songs and i can't post any reviews from the album, but i will wait for the copies from the states.
for the topic, i guess some immigrates from china they will notice that and make them really upset. b'coz the June 4th event cause them to move out the country to a new country. so not only the government, all chinese around the world will feel the same. jin shouldn't mention it again, even that's the truth.

I am NOT hating on China, but just wanted to set a few things straight. Whereas pirating comes in the form of downloads off the Internet in America, pirating comes in the form of CDs in China. Yup, the majority of album pirating n China are actually still sold albums, but just at a much cheaper price. In that way, it hurts the artists even more because someone else is making money off of them. Also, many people, especially people who do not live in China, are not even aware that have purchased pirated material unless they examine it closely.

exactly, what really happened was some christians group were secretly sending pictures with encrypted messages in them to crazy chinks that wanted attention.
as time went by, the americans told the chinese to rebell agasint the govt. in the name of Christianity.
sadly, the govt didn't buy it. and told everyone to go home.
they all left.
except for one guy who just stood there. with a t-shirt saying, FUk off, this land belongs to america.
so the tank ran him over.
because the soldier thought it was a dummy doll.
cuz it just stood there.
anyways, China isn't as bad as americans make it out to be.
go there and find out.
people may be rude there, and have no manners, but thats why they are.
everything else seems pretty normal.

Corrected Version by Sir_Knightmare: Jin ft. LT - The Rest Is History - Same Cry
LT:
We may look different, but we see the same sky...
We may see different, but we cry the same cry...
Jin:
To wake up daily, to sleep better at nights
That's what we all wish for to seek a better life, right?
Its unfortunate when tragedy strikes
But the truth is, reality bites
June 4th, '89 a day residents feared
Now known as the Massacre at Tiananmen Square
The day I turned 7, they were mourning and grieving
Thousands of innocent died for what they believed in
Armed with nothing but heart and a point to prove
Stood infront of tanks and refused to move
What would you do, run or stand still?
When the life is on the line and it test the man's will
Seek a change and they found it, but in death
Strangers yet they were my blood and flesh
This happened in China but you ain't gotta be Asian to relate
To the struggle, pain and heartache. So...
LT:
(Chorus)
We'll never know, you'll never get it
There is no choice, we can't forget it
When we look up, we see the same sky
When we look up, we cry the very same cry
Jin:
See, I'm a grown man
It hurts when I turn on the news, to see whats going on in my homeland
the SARS epidemic, could've been lies
Could've stand for Should Asians Really Survive?
They'll try anything to break your family apart
Politics will break down the manliest heart
Can the child within my heart, rise above?
If there is a billion of us, I shouldn't have to look for love
Overpopulation, but damn just to meet the needs...
it's illegal to have more than one seed?
How can you dictate birth, regardless to women?
And the parents, they make the hardest decisions
Sons keep their family names so its not an option
Imagine being forced to put your daughter for adoption
And even though its beyond your control...
Keep your head up, here is a song for your soul
LT:
(Chorus)
Jin:
If you don't know where you came from
You can't get the way you trying to go
Ain't no denying so, its true
I got some big shoes to fill...
But if I don't lead the movement, then who will?
Stuck between a rock and a hard place
Thinking about the refugees that went to see God's face
16,000 miles across the ocean tides
Some died, some got lucky and survived
I wouldn't call it luck, they reached their destination
Modern-day slavery, without the plantation
Them sneakers on your feet cost a hundred a pop
My peoples making 15 cents a day at sweat shops
To make them kicks, so you can look good
Think we open restaurants cus we cook good?
Hell no, we ain't got no choice
I gotta speak up, without me, my people have no voice
LT:
(Chorus)
...music fade

Them people weren't just normal people, it was like a sect and wasnt like normal meditation.......man it was some big shit millions were into it.
^^ it's called the Fau Loung Gong. It's supposedly just a meditation/weird martial arts thing, but since so many people are into it, the government fears that it'll turn into a rebellion. China's government fears any big groups of people including religious gatherings, martial arts groups, etc.
I don't understand how the Chinese government can deny the Tienamen Square incident. My dad has the fucking VHS tape of that shit happening in the house right now!

first,i gotta say TRIH album is DEFINITELY getting banned here in china.especially in mainland here.i can bet 1G on it.
da verse,da incident jin mentioned is one reason, but there r still many other reasons.china aint releasing no EXPLICIT albums.u want some rap songs?will smith is what u can get.china`s media here also reports eminem, cuz he`s big n well-known.but most chinese ppl here dont know shit about hiphop n no good alubm is officially released.
da hiphop heads here in china have several ways to get good hiphop music:
1,download
2,buy da bootleg cds.they have good rap albums like chronic, illmatic,i mean them big names, bootlegged and hiphop heads can buy them.they aint never released officially here in china.
3,buy da smuggled cds.that`s real cds.i have a collection of about 200 of them.and that`s da most important way for we chinese hiphoppers to get our fav. rap albums.
4,if u a rich cat,of course,u can order thru amazon ect,in da case that u got a cridet card wit us dollors in it.
so,when it comes to rap albums,da situation here is fucked up.
but, hiphop heads here do luv jin and will get da album buy da 3rd n 4th method.i prolly will cop da album by asking my friend for help.he a black,a rapper but now he`s in china.

i knew some cats in shanghai (from outside) who opened up this club and on the opening night one of the dudes from LMF came and rapped, freestyled and shit... it was cool but i didnt understand shit
after that night no one came back though, only e heads... whatever...
chinese clubs are full of hard drugs, one club had this other room to it on the first floor where there were shitloads of ppl snorting shit or just staring at the ceiling tripped out, i got in and i was only 14 lol... most places dont check id anyways, its not against the law...

You are idiotic, you are foolish, you are blind to the world around you, and what's worse, you're completely BRAINWASHED!
Vast Christian-American conspiracy against the Chinese? Shows how much you know about America and the decay of organized religion over here! There was once a time when being American practically meant that you were always a Christian. That is no longer the case. Even if you were granted that argument, there are HUNDREDS of different Christian denominations, all with different ideologies and interpretations.
In this modern day and age, no one gives a fuck about gaining new territory... It's been like that for almost half a century now. America's "empire" is not in its territorial possession (althought it helps), but in its economic and military might. The fact that the Chinese media has clearly brainwashed you into thinking Christianity had ANYTHING to do with the Tiananmen Square massacre is sad and it's sickening. I feel sad that there are so many dumbass Chinese people like you, just waiting to be used as human shields if the government feels threatened.
I don't fear my government, but I am proud of it, and I think that we're still pretty damn good- we just need to make some adjustments. As for you, it sounds like you fear your government, and that you are willing to believe whatever they say. The US was like that once- FORTY years ago! Open your eyes and see what BS they're really teaching you.
The tank drivers thought the man was actually a doll? Maybe YOU are the only stupid one after all, cuz I have NEVER heard such an idiotic explanation on the Tiananmen Square massacre.

Incorrect. There are still very many nations (most of them small) who do care about gaining territory.
And I'm not sure about this but... doesn't it seem like Bush wanted Iraq and the surrounding area so he could drill for oil? If that's so, wouldn't that go down as wanting territorial possession?

I should have clarified myself... none of the major powers today are concerned about territory. The only situation I can think of off the top of my head is the dispute over the island of Cypress by Greek and Turkey, but neither of those countries can be considered "major powers" in the world today.
The "Bush Drilling for Oil" theory is just that- a theory. Of course ANY country would love to drill for oil in Iraq, but keep in mind that America has vast stores of oil in Alaska and other states- we just want to save it. But to answer your question, I think it's been proven that going into Iraq had little to do with oil, or else it would be an enormous issue and another barb to hurl at Bush by Kerry. Territorial possessions today no longer have the same weight as before, BUT the assets and resources of various territories is what's important. As of this point, however, none of the major powers (US, China, Russia, UK, etc) are waging wars of conquest to OWN more land- no matter what the harshest critiques of Iraq say.
